Reguera was born at Veracruz in Mexico. Her mother, Nena de la Reguera was Miss Veracruz who became a journalist and a TV personality. Reguera started studying ballet in the classical style and later started her performance arts studies at Instituto Veracruzano de la Cultura. She quit Veracruz to study at Televisa's CEA in the following year, and then studied alongside Juan Carlos Corazza in Spain and later in Los Angeles with Aaron Spicer, Lisa Robertson, and Joan Scheckel. Then she became a famous actress in the entertainment industry all over the world.n 2014, Reguera was cast in the Netflix crime drama Narcos as Elisa.Reguera played the role of Lorena Guerra on the HBO show Capadocia. It was on for three seasons beginning in the year 2008. The series received good reviewsas well as awards.Other television credits include Twin Peaks, Power,[From Dusk Till Dawn and The Blacklist.Reguera played the role of Marisol Silva in the second season of Goliath as part of the main cast as well as in season 3 she was a recurring character. Season 2 premiered in 2018 on Amazon Prime, while season 3 was aired in the year 2019 through the same service.Reguera's acting career started by playing the role of Azul in the telenovela Azul (1996) followed by Pueblo chico, infierno grand (1997) infierno grande (1997), starring Veronica Castro, for which she received the Heraldo award for the best female acting, and Desencuentro that was her third telenovela in director Ernesto Alonso.
