 Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2 1972) who is also known under his nickname as The Rock, is an American-Canadian actor producer businessman, former footballer, and former professional wrestler. Widely regarded as one of the most outstanding professional wrestlers ever He was a key player in the growth and success of the WWE during the Attitude Era which was a boom in the industry during the latter part of the 1990s and early 2000s. Johnson was a WWF/E wrestler for eight years before deciding to pursue an acting career. His films have earned him more than $3.5 billion in North America and over $10.5 billion globally, making him one of the world's highest-grossing and highest-paid actors.Prior to his rise to fame as a top-grossing actor beginning in the late 2010s, Johnson was an athlete. At Freedom High School in Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley, he ultimately was a star on the school's football and wrestling teams, which were part of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, a conference known for producing the best professional and Olympic athletes. His coach at the high school helped in motivating him to make positive changes in his own life. He was previously involved in fights and other petty crimes in high school as a teenager.
