Hayley Atwell

 Hayley Elizabeth Atwell (born 5 April 1982) is a British and American actress. Atwell was born and raised in London. She studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and made her stage debut in 2005 with James Kerr's translation of Prometheus Bound, an Ancient Greek tragedy. In the following years, she appeared in a variety of West End productions and on television. She was recognized for her breakthrough performance as Lady Elizabeth Foster in The Duchess (2008) in which she was nominated for a British Independent Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. She was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film for her performance in The Pillars of the Earth (2010). Her performance in the role of Agent Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero movie Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) has earned her international recognition. Atwell also reprised the character as Agent Carter in Agent Carter (2013) as well as the TV series running from 2015-2016 of the name. In addition, she was a part of the war-themed drama Testament of Youth (2014) and the romantic comedy Cinderella (2015) as well as the comedy-drama fantasy Christopher Robin (2018).    Hayley Atwell
