Amethyst Amelia (born 7 June 1990), better popularly known as Iggy Azalea zeIli @/),, is an Australian singer, songwriter, and model. At the age of 16, Azalea moved from Australia to the United States in order to pursue a career in music. After releasing music videos for "Pussy" and "Two Times," Azalea gained public attention. Azalea soon after released her debut mixtape Ignorant Art (2011) and subsequently signed a recording contract with American rapper T.I. 's Grand Hustle label. The New Classic (2014) was Azalea's debut studio album made it to the top five on many charts around the world, but received mixed praise from industry experts. The album ultimately topped the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, making Azalea the first female non-American rapper to reach the top of the chart. The New Classic was preceded in the U.S. by Azalea's first single "Work", and the chart-topping single "Fancy" with CharliXCX. Billboard Hot 100. Azalea was featured on Ariana Grande's 2014 hit single "Problem" that reached second place behind "Fancy".
