Jeanine Ferris Pirro (born June 2, 1951) is an American TV host writer, author, and former New York State judge, prosecutor, and politician. Pirro was the host of the Fox News Channel's Justice with Judge Jeanine until 2022 when she became a co-host of The Five. She was a frequent contributor to NBC News and made frequent appearances on The Today Show. She was the first judge of a female gender elected in Westchester County, New York.Pirro was elected as the first female district attorney for Westchester County. Pirro was a district attorney and became known for her work in instances of domestic violence, as well as for crimes against the elderly. Pirro briefly ran for Republican nomination for United States Senate to run against Hillary Clinton in 2006, but she decided to withdraw in order to accept the nomination of New York Attorney General; she lost the general election to Democrat Andrew Cuomo. In the year 2018, she published the book Liars, Leakers, and Liberals: The Argument Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy.Pirro was identified as an defendant in a 2021 defamation lawsuit by Smartmatic regarding false claims of election fraud during the 2020 United States presidential election, though the claims against her were dismissed by an arbitrator in March 2022.
