 Julia O'Hara Stiles (born March 28, 1981) is an American actress from the United States. Born and raised in New York City, Stiles started acting at the age of 11 as part of New York's La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. Her first film role was a minor role in I Love You, I Love You Not (1996) which was and then she was cast as the lead in Wicked (1998) for which she received the Karlovy Vary Film Festival Award for the Best Actress. She gained acclaim for her leading roles in teen films like 10 Things I dislike about You (1999), Down to You (2000), and Save the Last Dance (2001). She has been awarded numerous times, including an NBR Award. A CFCA Award. A Gold Derby Award. A Teen Choice Award. Two MTV Movie Awards. Satellite Award. Gotham Award. Golden Globe Award. Emmy Award nominations. In 2002, she played Nicky Parsons in Bourne. Some other notable movies include Hamlet (both 2000), O(2001), A Guy Thing (2002) and Carolina (2003). She has also appeared in The Prince & Me (2004) and Edmond, A Little Trip to Heaven (2006).
