Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Brianne Clarkson[a] (born April 24, 1982) is an American singer, songwriter as well as a writer and TV personality. She rose to fame following her win in the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002, which earned her a record contract with RCA. Her debut single "A Moment Like This" topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and was the country's most-sold single in 2002. It was part of her debut album Thankful (2003) which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. Clarkson decided to reinvent herself, and quit Idol management to focus on the pop genre for Breakaway (2004). It was accompanied by four US top ten hits - the title song, "Since U Been Gone", "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Because of You" - Breakaway was sold to more than 12 million copies around the world and was awarded two Grammy Awards.Clarkson also took on more creative control on her third album, My December (2007) co-writing all tracks , and later becoming the album's executive producer. The label, however, was unhappy with the album's darker rock style and did not promote it with enthusiasm. The fifth and fourth albums of her studio album, All I Ever Wanted (2008) and Stronger (2011) Stronger (2011), were more light in their tone and more pop-rock in sound. The former album was her second US top-selling album, while the latter album made her the first musician twice to win the Grammy Award.
