American actress Mary Lucy Denise Henner. She began her career appearing in the original production of the musical Grease in 1971. She then making her debut on screen in the comedy-drama film Between the Lines.In 1977, Henner was cast in her first major role in the role of Elaine O'Connor Nardo in the sitcom on ABC/NBC Taxi, a role she played through 1983. She was awarded five Golden Globe Award nominations. In the following years, she appeared in movies such as Hammett (1982), The Man Who Loved Women (83), Cannonball Run II (1884) as well as Johnny Dangerously (1884) Then Johnny Dangerously (1884) and Rustlers' Rhapsody (1985), Ladykillers(88), L.A. Story (1991) and the film Noises Off (1992). Her return to television was with a a starring role in the CBS sitcom Evening Shade (1990-1994), and later had leading parts in a variety of made-for-television films. Henner was an University of Chicago student from Hyde Park, Chicago, played the character of Marty in Grease's 1971 Kingston Mines production.
