Gomez started her acting career on the children's television series Barney & Friends (2002-2004). In her teens she became famous for starring as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez has also been featured in a variety of films, including Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Princess Protection Program (2009). She was also featured in Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers (2012). Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). A Rainy Day in New York (2018). Her voice acting credits include the character as Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022).
