Carice Anouk van Houten was born in Leiderdorp, South Holland, Netherlands in September 1976. She was in Valkyrie in 2008, for which she was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. Carice has also appeared in Repo Men in 2010 and Lea in the year before, where she was awarded the Golden Calf and Rembrandt Award for Best Actress. Black Butterflies (2011) won the two prizes and an award from the Tribeca Film Festival Award for Best Actress Narrative Feature Film. She again won the Rembrandt Award for Best Actress in 2012.
