Amanda

 Amanda Tapping, a British-Canadian actor/director was born on August 28, 1965. She is best known for her role as Samantha Carter in the Canadian-American military science fiction television series Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. She also appeared as Helen Magnus in the science fantasy-fiction television show Sanctuary.Born in Rochford, Essex, England, Tapping moved with her family to Ontario, Canada, when she was three years old. North Toronto Collegiate Institute was where she excelled in the field of environmental science and drama. When she was done in 1984, she chose to concentrate on dramaand attended the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts in Windsor, Ontario.After graduation, Tapping continued to study the theatrical arts and performed in numerous stage productions. She appeared on numerous commercials for television and had various roles in films and television shows, such as The Outer Limits and The X-Files. In the early 1990s she also co-founded a comedy group called "Random Acts" with Anne Marie Kerr and Katherine Jackson.
