Bruce Anthony Buffer (born May 21 1957) is an American professional mixed martial arts announcer, and the official octagon announcer for UFC events. He is introduced on broadcasts as the "Veteran Voice of the Octagon". Buffer's catchphrase "It's Time!" He announces the main fight of UFC prior to the start of the event. Buffer is the half-brother of the boxing and professional wrestling ring announcer Michael Buffer, and is the President and CEO of their company, The Buffer Partnership. Buffer is a black belt in Tang Soo Do, and has participated in kickboxing. He was just 13 when he started to learn Judo. He moved to Malibu, California with his family when he was fifteen and befriended two students of Chuck Norris, who introduced him to Tang Soo Do, in which he is an advanced black belt. Buffer began kickboxing in his twenties, but the sport was cut off at the age of 32 due to another concussion. He was the host of all UFC 10 fights later. In 1997 he appeared as himself in Season 3 Episode 24 of the Friends sitcom, "The One with the Ultimate Fighting Champion". Robert Myer, the owner of UFC 13, convinced him to step on the stage and become the full-time announcer for UFC 13.
