Chancelor Johnathan Bennett (born on April 16, 1993) is known as Chance the Rapper is a popular American musician, rapper, and record producer. Bennett was raised in Chicago. He released his first mixtape, 10 Day, in 2012. After the release of Acid Rap, his second mixtape in 2013, Bennett began to get mainstream attention. In 2016, he debuted Coloring Book, his third mixtape. It earned him more praise from critics. The album won three Grammy Awards for it, including the Best Rap Album award. The album also became the first album that was exclusively streaming to receive an Grammy Award and reached number eight on the Billboard 200. The Big Day was his debut studio album. The Big Day was released in 2019.Aside from his solo work, Bennett is a member of the Chicago collective Savemoney, and is the vocalist of The Social Experiment; they released the album Surf in the year 2015, which was produced by trumpeter Nico Segal. Bennett is also involved in political activism within the Chicago community in which he resides.Chancelor Bennett was born in Chicago, Illinois. His father, Ken Williams-Bennett was an aide for the late Chicago mayor Harold Washington and then-Senator Barack Obama.His mother, Lisa Bennett, was a lawyer for the Illinois Attorney General.
