Irina Valeryevna Shaykhlislamova (Russian: Irina Valer'evna Shaikhlislamova born 6 January 1986), known professionally as Irina Shayk (/SeIk/; Russian: Irina Sheik) is a Russian TV and model who received international recognition for her appearance as the first Russian model to grace the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.Models.com lists her as one of the most popular models of 2011. SupersShayk was born in Yemanzhelinsk (Chelyabinsk Oblast region), Soviet Union, to the Volga Tatar father Valery Shaykhlislamov, coal miner, and an the ethnic Russian mother, Olga, a kindergarten music teacher. She has said that she inherited her looks from her father. She also said that many think she is South American, saying, "My father was dark skinned as he was Tatar and sometimes Tatars appear Brazilian. I get my light eyes from my mom." She has one sibling named Tatiana Petenkova. Tatiana is the mother of three children, Tatiana is her aunt. Tatiana also has a niece who is named "Irina". She started playing the piano when she was just six. When she was nine years old she was enrolled in an music school and continued her studies there for seven years, playing the piano and singing in the choir because her mother had urged to pursue a degree in music.
