John William Ferrell (/'fer@l/; born July 16 1967) is an American actor and comedian. He also produces. He first established himself in the mid-1990s when he was a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, where Ferrell appeared from 1995 until 2002. He then appeared in comedy films, including Elf (2003), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Kicking & Screaming (2005), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), Semi-Pro (2008), and Land of the Lost (2009). In 2007, he co-founded Funny or Die with Adam McKay who was his writer. Other noteworthy roles include The Other Guys (2010) and The Campaign (2012). Holmes & Watson (2018) are also among his many films. Paul is also a part of the "Frat Pack" which is a group made up of famous Hollywood comedians that came to prominence in the late 1990s/2000s.
