Jeanine Ferris Pirro, born June 2 1951 is an American TV host, author and former New York State prosecutor, judge and politician. Pirro was host of the Fox News Channel's Justice With Judge Jeanine from 2001 until 2022, when she was made a co-host of The Five. She was a regular contributor to NBC News and made frequent appearances on The Today Show. She was also the first female judge elected in Westchester County, New York.Pirro was elected as the first female district attorney in Westchester County. In her position as district attorney, Pirro gained visibility in cases of domestic violence and crimes against the elderly. Pirro briefly ran for Republican nomination to the United States Senate to run against Hillary Clinton in 2006, but she decided to withdraw in order to accept the nomination for New York Attorney General; she was defeated in the general election by Democrat Andrew Cuomo. In 2018, she wrote the book Liars, Leakers, and Liberals The case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy.Pirro was named an accused in a February 2021 defamation lawsuit brought by Smartmatic in connection with false claims of election fraud in the 2020 United States presidential election, even though her claims were rejected by the judge in March 2022.
