Jo Koy

 Joseph Glenn Herbert (born June 2 1971) popularly referred to as Jo Koy, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He was a frequent panelist on E! He was frequent panelists on E!'s late-night show Chelsea Lately. Since then, he's seen a variety of Comedy Central and Netflix specials. His father was an white American who was stationed in the Philippines in the United States Air Force when the time he was born. After graduating from high school in Tacoma, Washington Spanaway was relocated to Tacoma, Washington and then Las Vegas. He was a student at Spanaway Lake High School and later transferred to Foss High School in Tacoma. He relocated to Las Vegas with his grandmother who was suffering from illness. Jo Koy was a student at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, but he dropped out to pursue stand-up comedy. On September 22, 2019, he revealed that he was discussing with his cousin the name of a stage in 1989 when his aunt called him and invited him to come along for dinner. (Ko means "my" in Tagalog, so Jo Ko means "my Jo"). He misheard it and assumed she was saying "Koy," decided it was a suitable name and has used it every since.
