Jose Romulo Sosa Ortiz, 17 February 1948 - 28 September 2019, was a Mexican actor and singer. Born into an affluent family of musicians, Jose began his musical career in his teens playing guitar and singing in serenade. Later, he joined the jazz and bossa nova trio where he sang and played bass and double bass.Jose Jose found success as a solo artist in the beginning of the 1970s. He showed his skills as a tenor vocalist with an impressive performance of "El Triste" at an Latin music Festival in Mexico City in 1970. This song was instrumental in helping him climb the Latin charts in the decade. His singing was a hit, and he gained international recognition as a balladeer. His 1983 album Secretos has sold over twenty-five million units. With a variety of world-wide hits, he has received several Grammy nominations and international recognition. The venue he played at sold out, such as Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Garden.
