Kenneth Copeland

Kenneth Max Copeland (born December 6 1936) is an American writer and televangelist of the charismatic movement. The church he founded in 1967, Eagle Mountain International Church Inc. (EMIC), is located in Tarrant County, Texas. Copeland's sermons are broadcast across the US and around the world via the Victory Channel. Copeland has also written a number of books and resources. He has been identified as preaching the prosperity gospel, and as a part of the Word of Faith movement. Copeland claims that people who attend church will earn the "hundredfold return" from their investment by making a donation to God. Copeland has been criticized for making use of donations and tax-exempt status to finance a mansion and private jets as well as other lavish purchases. He said that the pandemic was gone and was likely to end soon and that God would be able to heal his followers. He advised that his followers continue to pay tithes even after they lost their jobs due to the economic downturn that the pandemic caused. Then he made claims that he would be able to eradicate the virus and ended the ongoing pandemic.
