Lucy Lawless

 Lucille Frances Lawless (born 29 March 1968, nee Ryan) is an actor and singer born in New Zealand. Her most well-known work is her role as Xena in the tv series Xena: Warrior Princess, as D'Anna Biers on the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series, and Lucretia in the television show Spartacus: Blood and Sand and associated series.Lawless had recurring roles as Diane Lewis-Swanson on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation (2012-2015), and as Countess Palatine Ingrid Von Marburg on the WGN America supernatural series Salem (2015). Ruby was also her role on Starz' horror-comedy series Ash vs Evil Dead (2015)-2018. Lucille Frances Ryan was born in Mount Albert to Julie Ryan (nee Haynes), and Frank Ryan, Mount Albert's mayor. She is the sixth of six children (four brothers and one sister). She has described her family as "this large expansive Irish Catholic family", and when filming in Ireland for the Discovery Channel in 2004, informed Ireland on Sunday that her father's lineage originated in Quilty County Clare.Her first television appearance was for two and a half seasons as a cast member in the New Zealand sketch-comedy series Funny Business. Then she studied acting at Vancouver's William Davis Centre for Actors Study, British Columbia, Canada.
