Nate Diaz

 Nathan Donald Diaz (born April 16th 1985) is an American professional mixed martial artist who is currently free-agent. Diaz is well-known for his participation in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in which the fighter fought for more than 15 years following his victory in The Ultimate Fighter 5 in June 2007. Diaz achieved success as a top contender in UFC's lightweight division. He competed for the UFC Lightweight Championship in December 2012 and remaining in the top 5 of the lightweight rankings for most of his UFC period. Diaz rose to superstardom following the March 2016 submission win over Conor McGregor at UFC 196 before he was kicked out of the UFC after a submission victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in September 2022 when his UFC contract was up. Before signing with UFC, Diaz was a participant in World Extreme Cagefighting and Strikeforce. Diaz holds the third-most UFC bonus awards , with 16, with 16 total. Diaz is the son of Melissa (née Womble), and Robert Diaz. He was born in Stockton with his brother Nick, as well as his sister Nina. When he was 11 years old, he started training in martial arts alongside his brother Nick.
