Rachel Anne McAdams was born November 17, 1978. She is a Canadian actress. She graduated from York University's theater program in the year 2001. She was a part of Canadian television and film productions such as Perfect Pie (2002) for which she was nominated for a Genie Award, My Name Is Tanino (2003-2005) and Slings and Arrows (2003) which earned her an award called a Gemini Award. In 2002, she made her Hollywood film debut with The Hot Chick. The actress gained fame in 2004 when she appeared on the comedy Mean Girls and the romantic drama The Notebook. She was a part of the romantic comedy Wedding Crashers and the psychological thriller Red Eye. In 2005 she was also in The Family Stone, a comedy-drama. She was recognized by media outlets as Hollywood's new "it girl" and was awarded an BAFTA Award nomination for Best Rising Star.After an unintentional pause her return to the limelight in 2009 with her appearance in the political thriller State of Play, the romantic comedy The Time Traveler's Wife, and the 2009 mystery film Sherlock Holmes. In 2010, she starred in the comedy featuring star vehicles film Morning Glory, and starred in Midnight in Paris (2011), The Vow (2012) and About Time (2013).
