 Serena Jameka Williams, born on September 26, 1981, is an American professional tennis player. Widely considered among the greatest tennis players of all time, she was ranked world number. The Women's Tennis Association (WTA), ranked her No. one in singles for 319 consecutive weeks. This included a record-setting 186 consecutive weeks. She was also the year's No. 5 times. She was awarded 23 Grand Slam singles titles, the most of any player in the Open Era, and the second-highest in all time.Along with her older sister Venus, Serena Williams was trained by her parents Oracene Price and Richard Williams. Turning professional in 1995, she took her first singles major title at 1999's US Open. She was dominating from the 2002 French Open to 2003 Australian Open. The next few years saw her claim two more singles majors, but suffer from injury and decline in form. In 2007 she started to recover her form, despite continuing injuries. 1 singles ranking.
