Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (born on 20th October 1971) who is professionally known as Snoop Dogg (previously Snoop Doggy Dogg and later Snoop Lion), is an American rapper. His popularity began in 1992, when he was in Dr. Dre's debut solo track, "Deep Cover" and later on Dre's first solo album "The Chronic". Broadus has since sold more than 23 million albums across the United States and 35 million albums across the globe. His awards include an American Music Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and 17 nominations at the Grammy Awards.Broadus' debut solo album, Doggystyle, produced by Dr. Dre The album was released by Death Row Records in November 1993. It it debuted at the top of the most popular album charts, the Billboard 200, and on the Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Doggystyle sold over 800,000 copies in its debut week. It reached the first album to be quadruple platinum in 1994. The singles "What's My Name?" were also included. and "Gin and Juice". In 1994, Death Row Records released an album, produced by Broadus, for the film Murder Was the Case, featuring Snoop.
