Chancelor Johnathan Bennett was born on April 16 1993, is a popular American rapper and singer-songwriter. Bennett was born and was raised in Chicago. He released his debut mixtape, 10 Day in 2012. After the release of Acid Rap, his second mixtape in 2013 Bennett began receiving mainstream attention. In 2016, he released Coloring Book, his third mixtape. It was praised by the press more. He won three Grammy Awards for it, including the Best Rap Album award. It was also the first album solely streaming to receive an Grammy Award and reached number eight on Billboard 200. His debut studio album The Big Day was released in 2019.Aside from his solo work, Bennett is a member of the Chicago collective Savemoney, and is the vocalist for the band the Social Experiment; they released the album Surf in 2015, led by trumpeter Nico Segal.He is also active in activism for social change in the Chicago community in which he resides.Chancelor Bennett was born in Chicago, Illinois.His father, Ken Williams-Bennett, was an adviser to the late Chicago mayor Harold Washington and then-Senator Barack Obama.
