George Strait

He is an American actor, songwriter, and singer. actor. Strait is popularly referred to as the "King of Country" and is considered to be one of the most influential and well-known recording artists of all time.In the 1980s Strait was a prominent and pioneering figure within the neotraditional style of country, famed for his simple cowboy image and roots-oriented sound in a time when the Nashville music scene was dominated by pop country crossover acts.Strait's popularity began when his first hit single "Unwound" was a hit in 1981, which signaled the popularization of the neotraditional style. The 1980s saw seven albums by Strait topped the charts of country. In the 2000s, Strait was named Artist of the Decade by the Academy of Country Music, elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame and received his first Grammy award for his album Troubadour. Strait was named the CMA Entertainer Of The Year in 1989, 1990, and 2013.
