Melania Trump, /m@’la:ni@or M@-LAH-nee@, born Melanija Knavs, [me’la:nija ‘kna’ws] Germanized as Melania Knauss (me’la:nia ‘knaUs] April 26, 1970) is a Slovene American former model and businesswoman. She relocated to New York City in 1996 after working as a model for modeling agencies in Paris and Milan and Paris. She was a member of Irene Marie Models, and Trump Model Management. She got married to Donald Trump in 2005 and they had a son, Barron. In the same year, she was an American naturalized citizen. She is the second naturalized American woman after Louisa Adams and the first non-native English native to be the first lady.Melanija Knavs was born in Novo Mesto, Yugoslavia, now part of present-day Slovenia, on April 26, 1970.Her father, Viktor Knavs (born March 24 1944), was from the town of Radece and was the manager of dealerships for motorcycles and cars for a manufacturer owned by the state.
